Nancy O'Hanlon: "deep knowledge of pedagogy and effective online learning practice"

“I worked with Tom when I led the Libraries' effort to develop online courses to teach research skills to undergraduates at Ohio State University. As eLearning consultant for the CIO, Tom advised us throughout this process.

"His deep knowledge of pedagogy and effective online learning practice was a key factor in our success in this venture. Tom also led an investigation of classroom response systems (aka "clickers") for the university and in this role he helped the Libraries to adopt this technique for actively involving students in an in-person instructional session. Tom is versatile, able to quickly identify good solutions that work for the audience he is serving, and to communicate them effectively.”
